NORAM SX™ welding: What you need to know

NORAM SX™ welding: What you need to know

Versatile Welding Processes

NORAM SX™ is compatible with a variety of welding methods, offering flexibility for different applications. You can use:

SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)

GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)

GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)

PAW (Plasma Arc Welding)

A Note on Welding Deformation

When welding NORAM SX™, you may notice slightly higher deformation compared to standard stainless steel. This is a normal characteristic of the material.

Welding NORAM SX™ with Other Materials

NORAM SX™ can be successfully welded to materials like carbon steel and stainless steel. However, take extra care when welding to Ni-based alloys containing more than 30% nickel, as this requires a critical approach.

Top Tips for Seamless Welding

Use the Right Filler Material: Always choose filler material intended for welding SX as provided by Noram International.

Maintain Low Heat Input: Keep welding heat input below 1.0 kJ/mm to ensure optimal results.

Watch the Temperature: Avoid exceeding an inter-pass temperature of 60°C (140°F) during welding.
