OPTIMUM ACID™
A closed-loop system in a pulp mill faces challenges in maintaining an optimal sodium-sulfur balance. Non-condensable gases serve as a sulfur source, containing hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, and dimethyl sulfide. Typically, these gases are destructed.
NORAM’s OptimumAcid™ technology offers an opportunity to utilize the sulfur content in non-condensable gases and produce sulfuric acid. The non-condensable gases are thus removed from the process, providing a method to control the sodium-sulfur balance in the pulp mill.
